#EmployeeFeature with Jonathan Bray Our journey of a decade would not have been possible without an extraordinary team. Jonathan Bray, our Head of Infrastructure has been with us on the KAD franchise for 6 years. Read about his reflections on our 10 year journey: “I joined KAD around 6 years ago as the Civil Engineer and I am now the Head of Infrastructure responsible for the maintenance of all the civil, premises and track assets. On joining I was immediately impressed with the depth of experience and professionalism of the engineering team at KAD. The team have been instrumental in supporting KAD with delivering the exceptional levels of performance and reliability of the DLR network over the course of the franchise in close collaboration with our client DLR (TfL). Throughout this franchise the KAD team have always pushed to improve the efficiency and quality of maintenance delivery. Some of the highlights for me during this time have been: the introduction of rail head milling as a more productive way to manage rail condition, certification (and subsequent recertifications) of the organisation to ISO 55001 the international asset management standard, the successful incorporation of the DLR Lewisham extension staff and assets into the franchise in 2021, the work our teams are doing supporting DLR with the introduction of their new train fleet and the ongoing professional development of our staff through a mix of technical and management training like our various leadership development programmes. One of the benefits of working at KAD is that it’s a relatively small organisation and all the various parts of the business know each other and work well together. This brings our engineers closer to our service delivery operation and vice versa. It is great to see members of our engineering team joining with our Communities Team as they go out to the local schools and colleges in the area to talk about the engineering on the DLR. For young people it is important seeing role models so hopefully this will help to inspire the next generation of railway engineers.”

Recognising KAD Star Employees through Signature Service 💫🎉🙌 At KeolisAmey Docklands (KAD), Signature Service is at the heart of how we deliver Service Excellence Every Day for our passengers. This initiative ensures a bespoke approach to the exceptional customer service passengers receive on their DLR journeys. Last week, we proudly recognised and celebrated our frontline heroes who received commendations from the public over the past 12 months for their outstanding delivery of our Signature Service. The recognition event kicked off with a short DLR journey to the IFS Cloud Cable Cars, where colleagues enjoyed a scenic ride over the River Thames to their celebration event. The venue was festively adorned with commendations displayed on screens, walk of fame-style plaques, and certificates sprinkled with glitter. At the reception event, KAD staff received commendation certificates to honour their exceptional contributions to delivering outstanding service to our passengers. Enhancing Passenger Comfort on the DLR with Rail Milling 🛤🚆 At KeolisAmey Docklands, we continually strive to improve the passenger experience on the DLR. One of our recent initiatives involves rail milling, a transformative maintenance technique aimed at enhancing passenger comfort, reducing noise and vibration, and extending the lifespan of our tracks. To ensure the success of this campaign, our track team worked collaboratively with LINMAG Rail Milling Service and KADs signaling, rolling stock and possession planning departments to close the DLR network an hour early over four weeks to complete the works. Dedicated engineering teams worked hard to restore the rail profile to its original shape. KAD are committed to continuous improvement, ensuring a better journey for all our passengers.
