One minute Kitty Chrisp is having a laugh and interviewing comedians, and the next she’s writing an exclusive investigation on the troubling rise of Russell Brand’s fandom after assault and abuse allegations surfaced. Being so adaptable in her specialism of comedy and entertainment comes easily to Kitty, and we at Metro.co.uk are very lucky to have her. Right now Kitty is reporting live from the Edinburgh Fringe – one of the greatest celebrations of arts and culture on the planet – and loving how ‘wild’ it is.‘ 'I'm spending my afternoons and evenings at shows until about midnight, then waking up and writing up pieces in the morning and starting over again,' she explained. 'I'm basically trying to find the most interesting stories from comedians and platform them where I can!’ Here are just some of Kitty's brilliant writing from this year: 🎞 An exclusive investigation on the troubling rise of Russell Brand’s fandom ➡️ https://lnkd.in/efqJ3sbk 🎞 A review of Harry Potter’s Jessie Cave’s brilliantly confessional Edinburgh Fringe show ➡️ https://lnkd.in/er5KbGgs 🎞 An exclusive investigation on the sinister and ‘violent’ shift in British audiences ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eZ8Bgvkp 🎞 A thoughtful and well-written exclusive on why Edinburgh Fringe is the perfect tonic for neurodiverse comedians ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eFGmwvaq

Employees are being forced back to the office - but where's your boss? We've all heard of the higher ups plea to go back to the office, with Elon Musk calling working from home 'morally wrong.' However, it seems bosses (at least for the most part) aren’t prepared to walk the walk. A survey of more than 500 chief executives by the International Workplace Group found that 93% have adopted flexible working patterns, with only 7% working from a central office location five days a week. ✨ This week, we’re shining the light on the Deputy Editor of Metro.co.uk Claie Wilson ✨ Claie’s been an integral part of the team for four and a half years, spearheading campaigns to change legislation, celebrity takeovers and of course, brilliant travel pieces. One of her most formidable moments was her work on ‘Formula for Change,’ a campaign calling on the government to review their infant formula legislation and give retailers the green light to accept loyalty points, all food bank vouchers and store gift cards as payment for infant formula. Within weeks of launching last summer, it received huge support from the likes of Iceland, Labour and LadBaby, as well as over 100,000 signatures from our readers. We're just waiting to see if we still need to take it to Downing Street or if Labour are going to honour their pledge. It’s not just editing that Claie is brilliant at, but writing too. She’s written multiple travel features, with her favourite being a trip to Japan’s Niseko Resort and a 48 hour trip to Ibiza. We’re looking forward to reading what she writes next!

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Sports Reporter Liam Grace, who has outdone himself with his Wimbledon coverage this month. Between commuting back and forth from Wimbledon, Liam has managed to secure three exclusives for Metro.co.uk — including one from Andy Murray himself. In addition to these exclusives, he also published in-depth analytical features while racing against the clock and spotted details in stories that others missed, allowing Metro to rise above the competition. It's not all glamour though. Liam also vox-popped Andy Murray fans around the Grounds, an experience he described as 'nerve-wracking.' 'You get a lot of people who don’t want to talk to you and you really have to put yourself out there without fear of rejection,' he said. 'Ultimately, it all went to plan and I got some good content for a feature piece I was working on.' A stand-out moment for Liam was meeting Cliff Richard. 'I got a shameless selfie with him because my grandparents are huge fans. He recorded a video message for them, which was a lovely touch,' Liam added. It's been a brilliant whirlwind two weeks for Liam, and we're looking forward to see what's next in store.
