“It’s so hard to find good freelancers.” I hear that all the time from would-be clients. But you know what I hear from the good freelancers? “It’s so hard to find good clients.” Want to be a top-tier client in order to retain freelance talent? Ball’s in your court. These are the basics: 1. Know your budget. 2. Set clear expectations. 3. Give timely and helpful feedback. 4. Pay invoices on time, every single time. 5. Stick to the scope, but keep the conversation open. That’s about it—and that should tell you just how much freelancers have to deal with.

Dave Five: Edit. Day Six: Take in the feedback and improve. Day Seven: Rest. We're not college sophomores trying to cram a 12-page paper into one all-nighter anymore... so let's stop pretending that we are.

We talk a lot about improving the craft. What are you doing to improve your business skills?
