Very excited to announce the UK's leading early stage climate tech companies joining Tech Nation's Climate Programme. This year, we are focused on critical solutions across biodiversity and nature, food and material innovation, the future of packaging, decarbonising the built environment, energy and mobility. We will be increasing our focus this year on climate tech adoption. While we remain focused on supporting underdeveloped and underfunded sectors, we are experiencing an inflection point, where there is no longer a green premium across multiple areas and where there is, environmental regulations are beginning to disincentivise business as usual. We will be aiming to support start ups and large organisations on working together to increase the adoption of key solutions. Already, 75% of organisations have agreed they need climate technologies to reach their net zero goals. They are activated by the hot washing #water on the filling lines and shrink themselves off the bottle. And - in my opinion - it is very soothing to the eyes 👀

We know we can’t recycle our way out of the plastic waste and pollution crisis. It’s time for a reuse revolution. Our latest study, published today, shows that if we: 🚀propel reuse models from pilot to mainstream, 🎼 harmonise packaging design and standards, 🎡 and share collection and sorting infrastructure, We can make the economics work and unlock huge environmental benefits. Returnable packaging has the potential to offer significant environmental benefits, and – once scaled up using the right approach – can compete with the economics of single use packaging for certain products.
