We've been experimenting with o1 non-stop. Based on some early reflections here's a couple of ways how we think this new approach to 'thinking things through before responding' will make an immediate impact to enterprise applications. **Squeezing maximum performance out of your current models with better, o1-generated, prompts** Auto, our prompt generation tool just got a huge upgrade. o1 excels at generating comprehensive, well thought-through prompts which were previously out of reach - this means better performance for every AI agent we build, and reducing the barrier to entry to squeeze every drop of performance out of existing models (like 4o). **Better reasoning means more relevant strategic ideation and problem solving** Where speed of response isn't critical (o1 can take around 30 seconds to consider complex topics) the deeper reasoning capabilities can enable you to dig past surface insights and get input that is really compelling - something we've already started to integrate into our Strategy Sidekick solution which is powered by OpenAI models. There is loads more to come. This feels like another GPT-3 level moment to discover some new incredible capability overhangs that this model will unlock for every business on the planet. Lets go 🚀 .

One from the vault today. It's only become clearer in the last year that while foundation model performance continues to increase (and cost continues to decrease) the competitive advantage for a lot of firms remains firmly rooted in the data and knowledge they hold today. Building solutions (like AI agents) which take advantage of this data remains complex, with a vast gulf between compelling prototype and a trusted-at-scale enterprise solution. One of the main ways to cross this gulf is by optimising your knowledge to interact with AI (think about it like pouring refined fuel into your supercar rather than some suspect stuff). There are many ways to do this, but using a graph database as a RAG backend is one (sometimes!). Here's a blog that dives into how to do that, why to do that and the common pitfalls: https://lnkd.in/d_iJi73X PS. it's not a magic bullet - check the blogs for the reasons when NOT to use graph to refine your knowledge if you're interested!

Is AI coming for your job? Well, yes. Probably. I wrote this article for The Scotsman exploring the reality of AI's impact on the workforce. The truth is, it's not just a possibility—it's already happening. But AI replacing jobs doesn’t need to be a bad thing so long as people see it as an opportunity - just ask your local lamplighter! Check out my full thoughts in the article below. Let me know what you think! #AI #FutureOfWork #Technology #Careers Tomoro

A brilliantly motivating morning at OpenAI's Women in AI Community event. Thank you Stephanie Tran, Yao L. and Jovana Jordanova for bringing everyone together and showcasing the importance of learning from each other while reflecting on the incredible progress happening across industries. We took a deep dive into the lives of these incredible speakers and explored the current and future plans they're working on with AI within their roles in Research, Product Development, Go-To-Market strategies, and Education. Andreea Rădulescu Laura Ellis Kylie Whitehead Monica Arés Tifa Chen Elena Dulskyte What I loved hearing about: - The necessity of working cross-functionally within our organisations to become AI-native businesses, alongside the ongoing need for technology literacy. - Personal stories of growth under the influence of AI, including how fellow non-techie peers are making significant impacts on the businesses their in. - Advice on approaching team growth as we build credibility and scale a business - How AI will revolutionise education, shifting us from traditional learning and assessments to more personalised, conversational, and problem-solving environments. Paving the way for the problem solvers and innovators we need. This picture includes just a few of the Tomoro team who love tackling real-world problems with AI! Days like this double our motivation to push boundaries and collaborate on reinventing the future of work in the right way. With the Olympics in the rearview mirror and the Paralympics kicking off today we asked ourselves how would AI plan the Paris Olympics if it led the planning committee? The only human intervention in the making of the video below was the following starter prompt: "You have 60 seconds to pitch the Olympics in Paris, tell us a story" and an example from Sandi Chanda of how an historic Paris landmark might be used to host an Olympic event. From that prompt, Zeno (one of our in-house AI agents built with OpenAI GPT-4o) did the following: - a narrative for a promotional video, including sports, locations and shooting guidelines - the prompts for Runway Gen-3 (video), Suno (backing track) and ElevenLabs (sound effects) - stitched those together (with some copy-and-paste help from Sam Netherwood where needed) to create the masterpiece below To reiterate, this came from one very simple human prompt and a single example, with no other input from us at all! From that you can see some of the creativity, and weirdness(!), that brings together eerily similar to real life swimming in the river, or bizarre events that we've never heard of. Safe to say, we think the Olympic committee is best to stick with human-in-the-loop for now, but this was a fun experiment to test the creative muscles of using combinations of multi-modal AI to get the inspiration flowing. https://lnkd.in/eSnqPy26

Strategic ideation is often associated with brainstorming, sticky notes and the subsequent blackhole where good ideas go to die. We had to do something about it! So, we developed a new approach to ideation - using AI as a catalyst. Within a few hours, abstract visions were transformed into a prioritised set of coherent, prototype-able ideas, and the first prototype was built the next day. Find out how we did it in our latest blog! https://lnkd.in/eTPNZbRd

As GPT-3.5 phases out, many firms face the challenge of migrating their GenAI systems to newer models, with OpenAI’s 4o-mini being a likely successor. For many businesses, initial applications (and even current ones) were built using hand-crafted prompts and trial-and-error methods. While this approach is perfectly fine for prototyping, it often lacks the rigour required for production-scale systems. We’ve been assisting several clients with the migration of their GenAI applications from legacy models to the latest state-of-the-art solutions. By leveraging frameworks like DSPy and feed-forward language programs, we can automate prompt optimisation and evaluation. This not only accelerates the migration process but also ensures that every bit of performance is extracted from these systems. We’ll be sharing a blog in the coming weeks with our insights and learnings. In the meantime, if this is something you’re interested in, feel free to drop a comment or message us.
