Mayor Questions Breakwater Yacht Club’s Lease

The future of the lease between the nonprofit Breakwater Yacht Club and Sag Harbor Village has been called into question by Mayor Brian Gilbride, who on Wednesday said he was concerned the village has not been generating enough revenue from the arrangement.

Sag Harbor Village took a step toward adopting a ban on most plastic shopping bags, as East Hampton and Southampton towns did last month, when the village board closed a public hearing on the matter on Tuesday.

Scaled Back Harbor Heights Plan Is Approved by Sag Harbor Planning Board

A scaled back plan to open a convenience store and relocate the fuel pump islands at the Harbor Heights gas station on Route 114 in Sag Harbor was approved by the Sag Harbor Planning Board at a December 23 meeting.

LIPA Says No to Wind Farm

East Hampton and Southampton Towns Adopt Plastic Bag Ban

The days of choosing between paper and plastic are officially numbered here on the East End, as the town boards in both East Hampton and Southampton this week voted on Thursday, December 18, to ban single-use plastic bags by Earth Day of 2015.
