Samot Named Sag Harbor’s Top Cop

Officer Nick Samot, a five-year Sag Harbor Village police veteran, was honored as the department’s Officer of the Year by the Southampton Kiwanis Club at an event at the Long Island Aquarium and Recreation Center in Riverhead on Friday.

Woman Claims Police Harassment

A woman who said she was falsely arrested, unlawfully detained, and physically harassed by Sag Harbor Village Police has filed a notice of claim against the village, its police department and Sgt. Thomas Pagano.

Court Appearance for Springs Man Facing Weapons Charges

Springs resident Valon Shoshi, who was the subject of a manhunt by East Hampton Town Police on October 3 after he allegedly fired several shotgun blasts in his Gardiner Avenue home before leaving in his car with the weapon, was back in East Hampton Town Justice Court on Thursday, October 30.

Update: East Hampton High School Students Return to Class

All East Hampton High School students were allowed to return to their classrooms by approximately 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning after a threat found on a bathroom mirror prompted school district officials to order the evacuation of the building around 8:30 a.m.

Students were allowed to return after district officials and police searched the building.
