New Standard Academy in Flint broke the Dimes for Diapers record by raising more than $12,000.

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - A first-time winner came out on top of the 40-school contest to collect donations for the Flint Diaper Bank.

New Standard Academy in Flint collected the most coins, cash and donations to win the Dimes for Diapers contest in 2024. Collectively, the students made a life changing difference for those in desperate need.

New Standard students raced to change dirty diapers, comfort a baby doll and learned how some local parents in Genesee County aren't able to provide that for their children.

The K-12 charter school set a Dimes for Diapers record by raising more than $12,000. That is enough money to put more than 120,000 diapers into the hands of families in Genesee County who would otherwise go without.

All 42 schools that participated in the Dimes for Diapers campaign raised more than $50,000 this year.
