Water level on Secord Lake will rise as work on the dam continues

MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - The Four Lakes Task Force says that beginning on Sunday, residents near Secord Lake may notice an increase in the water levels.

Crews will reroute water from the Secord Dam primary spillway to the auxiliary spillway. The Four Lakes Task Force says that the lake will rise approximately 12 inches at the base of the dam.

Property owners within 1.5 miles of Secord Dam can expect to see the increase. The further a property is from the dam, the smaller the increase in the water level. The water level will stay the same throughout the duration of the project.

Word on the Secord Dam is scheduled to be suspended in September as a legal battle continues between the Four Lakes Task Force and the Heron Cove Association over special assessments on properties.
