The Alouettes are the reigning Grey Cup winners and they looked like the best team in the CFL until they lost QB Cody Fajardo to an injury in Wk 6. However, 25-year-old Davis Alexander looked like the real deal when he took over in the second half last week to complete 15-of-18 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns in a comeback win against the Riders. With a terrific line protecting him and plenty of receiving weapons, Alexander should thrive in this offense. The Als defense is the best in the league and they should win and cover against a Ticats side coming off back-to-back wins against subpar foes after going 0-5 SU and ATS to start the season.

After missing last week with a hamstring injury, quarterback Cody Fajardo is back in the fold for the Montreal Alouettes when they travel to Steeltown to take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Fajardo boasts a 113.3 passer rating through six games this season, including two starts where he threw for 370+ yards. Montreal's starting QB now faces a Ticats defense that has been getting shelled in 2024, allowing the second-most points per game (29.7) and getting off the field on second downs at just a 52.9% clip. Meanwhile, Montreal's pass defense remains tops in the league, allowing an 80.4 passer rating through seven games, including giving up only three completions of 30+ yards. That will come in handy against Bo Levi Mitchell, as the league leader in touchdown passes has been forced to throw often for a Hamilton side that is used to trailing early and often.

The Argos have issues at QB but that might not matter in this matchup. They lead the CFL in rushing yards per game (124.4) and yards per carry (5.4) while the Stamps allow a league-worst 6.2 yards per carry. Calgary's defense has been one of the worst in the league and its offense has been wildly inconsistent, which makes it tough to trust as a fave. The Argos have the highest-rated offensive and defensive lines in the league according to PFF and with that dominance in the trenches, they should be able to lean on their ground game and keep things close.
