On 26 June 2024, the Regulator released a Statement of Reasons to accompany the publication of the Notice in the Gazette, which declared the duration of the fifth regulatory period for TasWater.

On 12 December 2023, the Regulator amended the Gas Retail Licence issued to TasGas Retail Pty Ltd to reflect the company's new name, Solstice Energy Retail Pty Ltd.
On 8 December 2023, the Regulator published its Inquiry into Sewerage Charging Draft Report.

November 2023

On 17 November 2023, the Regulator released its final report from its inquiry into the calculation of regulatory depreciation allowances for TasWater's new assets. The report can be found here.
On 2 November 2023, the Regulator gave notice that an application from Eastern Energy Supply Pty Ltd for the grant of a licence to sell gas by retail was received on 1 November 2023. This notice can be found here.

October 2023

On 25 October 2023, the Regulator published the Comparison of Electricity and Gas Prices Available to Small Customers in Australia - October 2023 report and accompanying Fact Sheets. The Regulator also published a Media Release.

September 2023

On 28 September 2023, the Regulator published terms of reference for its review of the Guaranteed Service Level Scheme, which requires TasNetworks to make payments to customers on mainland Tasmania that are affected by electricity outages when the frequency or duration of outages experienced by a customer exceeds prescribed thresholds.
On 26 September 2023 the Regulator published its Summary Report on the Findings from the Tasmanian Economic Regulator's Inquiry into Bass Island Line's Pricing Policies. The report can be found here.
On 22 September 2023 the Regulator published a "Notice of pricing investigation" and commenced a pricing investigation to determine whether the approvals in the current Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument remain appropriate, or whether the new approvals should differ from the current approvals. The new approvals will be contained in a new Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument. Further details are available here.
On 13 September 2023 the Regulator published revisions to the Preamble and Chapter 4A of the Tasmanian Electricity Code, effective on that date. The amendments change the generation performance standards for the annual number of system black events and average system restoration times on each of the Bass Strait Islands.

On 24 September 2021, the Regulator released its Retail Electricity Standing Offer Price Methodology Review Approach Paper.
The Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction approved the revised energy in storage levels, as set out in the Energy Security Monitor and Assessor's Review of the High Reliability Level and Prudent Storage Level Profiles. The Monitor and Assessor's advice to the Minister is available here.
The Regulator issued a Transmission Licence to Marinus Link Pty Ltd to operate those parts of a proposed High Voltage Direct Current electricity interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria located in Tasmania. The Licence and Statement of Reasons can be found here.

February 2021

The Regulator published revised versions of the Tasmanian Gas Bulk Customer Transfer Code, Tasmanian Gas Customer Transfer and Reconciliation Code, Tasmanian Gas Distribution Code, and the Tasmanian Gas Retail Code. The revised versions took effect from 26 February 2021.
MAIB lodged its submission in relation to the MAIB 2021 Pricing Policies Investigation. The Regulator sought comment on the matters outlined in the submission and as outlined in the Terms of Reference for the investigation. Submissions closed on 12 March 2021.
The Regulator commenced a Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument pricing investigation and published a Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument Consultations Paper - February 2021. The Regulator invited submissions to be made by close of business on 28 February 2021.

December 2020

On 15 December 2020, the Regulator sought consultation submissions regarding the Distribution Network Reliability Reporting Review 2020.
On 9 December 2020, the Regulator received the Requirement and Terms of Reference from the Minister for Finance and for Infrastructure and Transport to investigate the pricing policies of the Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB).

The Regulator finalises its Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument Pricing Investigation and makes the required wholesale pricing regulatory approvals. The Regulator also publishes its Final Investigation Report and a new Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument.

November 2017

The Regulator approved the MAIB's proposed premiums for the 12 month period ending 30 November 2018.
The Regulator releases its Draft Report including Draft Price Determination in relation to its 2018 Water and Sewerage Price Determination Investigation.
The Regulator releases its Annual Energy Security Review for the 2016-17 water year.
The Regulator has issued a notice of intention to conduct a pricing investigation in relation to the electricity Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument. The Regulator has also issued a Consultation Paper and invites written submissions on the proposals contained within this Paper by 5:00pm on 23 November 2017. The Regulator amended the following licences effective 7 November 2017: Hydro (Bass Strait Islands) - generation, distribution and retail, Hydro generation, TasNetworks - transmission and distribution, AETV generation, and LMS Energy generation.

TasWater has submitted its proposed Price and Service Plan to the Economic Regulator for the third regulatory period (1 July 2018 to 30 June 2021).
The Regulator amends the electricity generation licences held by Woolnorth Bluff Point Wind Farm Pty Ltd and Woolnorth Studland Bay Wind Farm Pty Ltd. The amendments take effect on 27 June 2017.
The Regulator renews Musselroe Wind Farm Pty Ltd's electricity generation licence effective 2 August 2017.

The Regulator amends the Tasmanian Electricity Code to ensure the accurate citing of Regulations and to implement changes to provisions relating to licence fees and voltage performance standards. The amendments take effect from 5 April 2017.

The Regulator publishes its 2015-16 Tasmanian Water and Sewerage State of the Industry Report. The Regulator has also issued a Media Release and Fact Sheet.
The Regulator publishes the Structure of Licence Fees to apply to licensed electricity, gas, and water and sewerage entities from 1 July 2017.
The Regulator finalises its Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument Pricing Investigation and makes the required wholesale pricing regulatory approvals. The Regulator also publishes its Final Investigation Report and a new Wholesale Contract Regulatory Instrument.

The MAIB lodged its preliminary submission for the MAIB 2017 Pricing Policies Investigation. Submissions close on 14 March 2017.
The Regulator is seeking comment on the matters outlined in the Terms of Reference for the Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB) 2017 Pricing Policies Investigation, as well as the MAIB's preliminary submission, which is expected to be lodged with the Regulator on 21 February 2017. Submissions close on 14 March 2017.

The Regulator releases a Consultation Paper and invites written submissions on its proposed Structure of Licence Fees applicable from 1 July 2017. Consultation closes 10 February 2017.
