Comedian Russell Brand earnestly reached out to listeners with a warning for those in the United States ahead of the upcoming election later this year.

Currently in the running for the highest seat in the White House is current President Joe Biden and recently convicted felon Donald Trump with the 49-year-old actor imploring listeners to put their votes towards freedom and democracy.

The Hollywood star shared in the latest episode of his podcast, Stay Free with Russell Brand: “If you care about democracy, if you care about freedom, I don’t know how you could do anything other than vote for Donald Trump for precisely the reasons that they claim that you can’t.”

Katy Perry’s former husband was joined by RNC spokeswoman Elizabeth Pipko for the lively conversation around Trump’s trial and conviction, a verdict that was delivered just last week.

In a preview obtained by Fox News on Thursday, Russell made his own opinion clear as he slammed the Democratic party’s views on the 77-year-old, saying: “They act as if a vote for Donald Trump is almost like you’re directly voting for Armageddon.”

He brutally described the campaigning against Trump as “hysterical” but while the divisive nominee can often spark an intense reaction among both his fans and critics, Russell raised a unique point to defend his endorsement.

The father-of-three shared: “A greater threat to democracy is this kind of technological feudalism, that tells you that it cares about you and that it’s protecting vulnerable people, all the while increasing censorship, increasing the funding of wars, increasing the division between ordinary Americans."

The Essex-born star blamed the “weaponization of the legal system” for Trump’s recent court battles and expressed his disdain for the “snobbery” among the presidential nominee’s opponents.

He simultaneously accused the current administration, led by President Joe Biden, of “plagiarizing” Trump and “emulating his policies” to form an “Orwellian nightmare” for the American population.

The famed celebrity has been an outspoken activist on many fronts over recent years including politics, religion and spirituality.

The British native recently made headlines for being baptized in the Thames, joined by his longtime pal Bear Grylls.
