Kate Middleton shared a health update with her fans as she continues her cancer recovery, leading to Dan Wootton rushing to her defence as he took aim at those who have been mercilessly trolling her.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express: "BREAKING: CATHERINE’S BACK! The beautiful Princess of Wales WILL attend Trooping the Colour as she continues cancer recovery, with months more treatment needed. In an eight-word reply, he fumed the "trolls stop polluting the internet with vile nonsense".

He continued: "So can the Sussex Squad trolls now stop polluting the internet with their vile nonsense about a woman who needs time?" he concluded alongside a picture of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate, 42, revealed earlier this year that she underwent abdominal surgery in January, before being diagnosed with cancer in March, after widespread speculation regarding her health.

In a new statement today (14 June), the mum-of-three expressed: "I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.

"It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times. I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

"On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."

She continued: "My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.

"I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal."

She concluded her statement by thanking all of her supporters before signing off the lengthy post. "Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."

Her loyal followers rushed to share their love for her as one person expressed on X: "Praying for you for continued healing, strength, and peace as you navigate this challenging time."

Somebody else said: "This is the best news. So incredibly happy to hear that things are progressing well and cannot wait to see your beaming beautiful smile once again."

While a third royals fan penned: "It’s the best news..so happy to hear your recovery is going well. It will make so many happy to see The Princess tomorrow.."
