Ruth Langsford is set to make a comeback on Loose Women next week, following her split from Eamonn Holmes. The 64-year-old presenter has been off the air since April, prior to the announcement of her separation from her husband and father of her four children, also aged 64.

Ruth has remained silent about the split until now, but reportedly feels she 'owes' an explanation to the Loose Women audience as she returns to the panel. An insider revealed that while it will be an emotional moment for Ruth, who shares a 22 year old son, Jack, with Eamonn, she is a professional and understands she can't return to TV without addressing her three-month absence.

A TV source told MailOnline that Loose Women will be the only platform where Ruth discusses her split, stating: "Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show."

They added: "The audience has been there through the highs and the lows of her relationship, she has always been very open and honest and next week will be no different... she owes it to the viewers to say something."

The source further mentioned that Ruth will be supported by her closest colleagues on the show and then plans to move on, with no intentions of giving a major interview; this will be the only time she speaks about it, reports the Mirror.

Eamonn Holmes has shared a concerning health update with his fans on Instagram, revealing his struggle to walk and hinting at feeling like he's living on "borrowed time". The GB News presenter posted a photo of himself propped against a doorframe, captioning it: "Hard to stand up, but next aim is to walk off to a birthday party today. What about you? ".

The TV veteran, who recently attended the TRIC Awards in a high-tech wheelchair due to chronic back pain, had previously confided to the Mirror about his fears for his health, noting that his father passed away at 65 from a heart attack. Eamonn's candid post drew an outpouring of support from his followers, with comments such as: "You're doing well Eamonn, keep it up xx" and advice like: "Keep moving Eamonn, as painful as it may be. Every little movement is of benefit."

This latest health scare comes after a tumultuous period for Eamonn, following the announcement of his split from Ruth Langsford, his wife and long-time co-presenter on This Morning. As he navigates through these personal challenges, it's reported that Eamonn is finding solace in the company of close female friends amidst the media storm surrounding his divorce.

As reported by Best magazine, the celebrity expressed a desire to eventually befriend Ruth. When questioned about their relationship status, he responded: "It's too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends."
