Beloved comedian dies just days before tour as heartbroken son pays tribute

The death of a much-loved comedian has plunged fans into shock, as he died of a "sudden heart-related issue" just days before going on tour.

US comedian Mutzie Daniel Forestier has died, as his devastated son paid tribute.

It has been revealed that the tragic comic had suffered from a heart condition. The news comes just days before his tour was due to start.

His son took to his Facebook page to break the news that he'd died over the weekend after sufferng a sudden medical emergency. He revealed: "We're heartbroken, but we know he's at peace now."

The award-winning entertainer, who was admired by fans for maintaining a strong Christian faith, had spent six years working as a comedian on Carnival Cruise Line ships. His son Newman addressed his faith in an online fundraiser that was created to help the family with his funeral expenses.

He wrote "Living with my dad, I saw firsthand how he nurtured his relationship with God. Nearly every night, he would fall asleep listening to sermons, spending his final moments in conversation with God."

Newman went on to say that his strong beliefs meant he never feared the prospect of death.

"His faith was unwavering and he found comfort in his closeness with Jesus," he shared, describing him as a "deeply spiritual man".

The official New Orleans Entertainer of the Year had been expected to travel across the USA this week and beyond for a new tour, making the news of his death all the more poignant for fans.

Newman also discussed the charity work his father had done using the proceeds from his tours, including supporting homeless shelters and donating gifts to the needy.

"My dad was a true giver, a man whose generosity knew no bounds," he wrote.

"We would use his CD money to buy pizzas and distribute them to schoolchildren, creating moments of joy that were truly special.

"Every guest that joined us could also feel the joy of giving, and it was truly an awesome experience every time."

Now the family face rising costs for his funeral, as Newman stated that he did not have a life insurance policy in place - and their online fundraiser has received 165 donations so far, meeting almost half their required target of $20,000.

"Our dad went through his life with very little, not because he had to, but because he chose to give all that he had to others," he shared.

"He would always say, 'I have money for my bills and food, that's all I need."'
