Manchester United could be about to benefit from one Arsenal transfer deal collapsing in the final days of the transfer window.

Premier League clubs have until 11pm on Friday evening to conduct all transfer business, with reports suggesting Nottingham Forest could spring a late move for Fulham star Andreas Pereira.

As per the Daily Mail, Forest are exploring a deal that would see the Brazilian join the club, despite rumoured competition from some of Europe’s elite.

Marseille, Juventus and even Chelsea have been mooted as a potential suitor, but it’s Forest who look most likely to snatch the 28-year-old.

Pereira joined the Craven Cottage outfit from United in the summer of 2022 for a fee in the region of £10million.

He’s established himself as a key operator under Fulham boss Marco Silva, making 84 appearances, scoring eight goals and registering a further 15 assists.

With two years left on his deal, Fulham are likely to put up a tough fight to keep hold of Pereira, which spells good news for the United hierarchy.

That’s because upon his Old Trafford exit the United bigwigs had the foresight to include a 20 per cent sell-on clause in his contract, meaning the Red Devils could be quids in if Pereira leaves.

Given Fulham aren’t actively looking to sell, they hold most of the cards at the negotiating table and could drive up the price, which would inadvertently benefit United.

For example, if Fulham were to drive a hard bargain and sell Pereira for £35million, as a result, United would pocket a hefty £7m.

United could have Arsenal to thank for the unexpected windfall after a deal that would’ve seen Eddie Nketiah put pen to paper at the City Ground fell through last week, opening the door for a late pursuit for Pereira.

It’s claimed a medical for the striker had been booked, however, the £30m transfer was abandoned and is unlikely to be revived at this late stage.

It comes amid what could be a hectic end to the summer window for United, with as many as four deals still in the works.

United are reportedly closing in on the purchase of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, with Scott McTominay heading out of the exit door to Serie A side Napoli.

Jadon Sancho’s future, be that at United or elsewhere, is poised to be resolved in the coming days, while Hannibal Mejbri could also secure a move having fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.
