Luke Littler has pocketed nearly £600,000 in prize winnings since his incredible rise to fame in the darts world. The World Championship runner-up and Premier League champion was lauded Stateside despite being beaten by Gerwyn Price in the US Darts Masters, but has remained modest throughout this whirlwind period in his career.

The 17-year-old banked £275,000 with his Premier League victory over Luke Humphries, getting revenge on ‘Cool Hand’ for defeat in the final of the World Championship at Alexandra Palace, though the teenager also came away £200,000 richer that day also.

Wins on the Euro Tour have also propelled Littler to over half a million pounds banked, increased further by £5,000 after reaching the semi-finals in Madison Square Garden on his American debut to take his total to £583,500.

Aside from darts, Littler has never hidden his second love for gaming. He has appeared on FIFA live-streams among a host of popular influencers and girlfriend Eloise Milburn, admitting that out of his huge winnings he spent £250 on a console to play on while on the road.

“None of them went to FIFA points," Littler said when asked how he was spending his new-found wealth. "But I did buy a Nintendo Switch, which I have brought away with me to have a bit of fun.

"Usually we are sat in the hotel rooms waiting for the next day to play. We did some sight-seeing this week. I came back, chilled out and played on the Switch."

Many teens in Littler's position would be expected to fork out on flashy cars or jewellery, but the Englishman has remained strong to his roots and instead his focus remains on darts, while passing the time between matches with video games.

While in New York for the past weekend’s tournament, Littler and his family took in some of the city’s iconic landmarks, including a boat trip to see the Statue of Liberty.

Although Littler was unable to seal a dream US debut with victory in MSG, his popularity had clearly transcended the Atlantic Ocean, becoming a firm fan favourite on the East Coast which was highlighted by the joy during a new walk-on song pinched from WWE star Cody Rhodes.

“The amount of the athletes that have performed here is amazing,” Littler said as he gushed over competing at such an iconic venue. “I enjoyed that walk-on. The crowd got involved with it.

“It has been crazy out here. But it’s a good thing as the darts get more recognisable outside of the UK and other countries. The Americans love their wrestling, it is where it is based. Cody gave me a message yesterday and I thought, let’s use his walk-on.”
