How do you adapt your teaching style to cater to diverse learning preferences?

Sabemos que existen cinco principales estilos que son: visual, auditivo, kinestésico, verbal y multimodal. Así que para poder llegar a esos 5 estilos , debes de variar tus actividades por cada estilo: *Visual comprenda algo es a través de videos explicativos o mapas mentales con dibujos e imágenes que representen los conceptos e ideas del respectivo tema; estilo de *Auditivo son las canciones o audios en los que se narra o explica un tema. *Kinestésico; es buena idea realizar actividades que los hagan poner a prueba lo aprendido. *Multimodal: Identificar el estilo de aprendizaje y aplicar la estrategia adecuada. Difícil de resumirlo en ese espacio, pero básicamente lo importante es identificar el estilo de aprendizaje de cada alumno.

At one time in my career I delivered training to teachers. As part of the program I administered a learning styles assessment that they would ultimately use with their students. It was so helpful for me to know who I had in the room and how I could best meet their needs over our 3 days together. It also allowed for better small group sessions where teachers with differing styles could be grouped and learn from each other as well as from me.

Las dinámicas de grupo son muy eficaces para transmitir conocimientos pero requieren participación activa del alumnado y mucha creatividad e innovación por parte del docente. También debe provocar un alto impacto emocional, puesto que éste resulta clave para que se almacene en la memoria a largo plazo. Otro inconveniente es que saturan fácilmente a la audiencia si se abusa de ellas. Por ello, es mejor reservarlas sólo en aquellos casos donde: 1) el conocimiento o habilidad es muy relevante 2) Existe buena predisposición por parte de los alumnos y 3) el docente está fuertemente motivado e implicado en la actividad concreta.

I found that personalizing feedback by aligning it to students' learning styles is effective. For instance, this year, I had a visual learner who struggled with literary analyses. So, to support this learning style, I annotated text excerpts and color-coded key themes and literary devices. The same could be valid for an auditory learner where that student would primarily benefit from individualized conferencing about the analysis process and real-time examples from the text.

Recomiendo un feedback equilibrado a cada alumno. Esto significa que debe ser frecuente, pero comedido, esto es, proporcional a lo ejecución aportada o mostrada. También deber ser asimétrico: reforzar más los aspectos positivos que "castigar" los negativos. Un aspecto muy reforzante que yo he visto es una frase muy simple y generalista, que no necesita explicación añadida: ante una aportación positiva, he dicho: "dos puntos más para tí!". Ante una aportación negativa "un punto menos para tí!".
