Through curriculum innovation, career access, and community building, our goal is to achieve gender equity in tech. We offer programs in New York City, Miami, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Boston, Texas, and virtually for students outside those regions.

🌟 Wrapping up an incredible journey at AbbVie! 🌟 It's bittersweet to say goodbye to all the amazing people who have taught me so much during my internship, but I'm excited to bring everything I’ve learned into my studies and future endeavors. During my time at AbbVie, I had the opportunity to dive deep into data science, working with Python, basic machine learning, and extensive data cleaning. I also utilized Microsoft Power Platforms extensively and even got to design the front end of a Power App and a website. One of my proudest achievements was my personal project, where I focused on prompt engineering and natural language processing (NLP) to create over 2,900 questions to help a chatbot understand the kinds of questions users might ask. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible people who made this experience so valuable: First, a huge thank you to my manager Virginia Saulnier for always going above and beyond to help us thrive. She listened to our interests and ensured we had the chance to explore those areas during our internships, making every day a valuable learning experience. Her leadership has been truly inspiring, and I’m so grateful to have had her guidance. To my mentor Darshan Patel, thank you for being the person I could always turn to with any question, no matter how small. Our great banter and jokes made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Ankit Singh, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to teach me basic machine learning concepts, even though I wasn't your intern and you didn’t have to go out of your way to do so. You sent me articles to help me learn about ML and even got on multiple calls to walk me through the process. Thanks to you, ML doesn’t seem as intimidating anymore! And Jennifer Van Camp, I can't thank you enough for advocating for the Tech in Residence program through Break Through Tech, which opened the door for me as a first-generation college student and woman in tech. Programs like these are vital, and I'm grateful for the opportunity it gave me to learn and grow. A special thanks to my partners, but more importantly, my friends Meleena Torres and Fatima Mora Garcia, who went through the internship with me. You both were amazing to work with, and I'm so grateful to have shared this journey with you! Thank you, AbbVie, for an unforgettable experience! Looking back on this past summer as a intern at American Express, I’ve learned so many skills not just professionally but personally as well. My first internship at AMEX gave me a taste of what it would be like to be a colleague and coming back allowed me excercise skills I learned the previous year. As I’m going into my final year at the University of Maryland I will take these lifelong skills I’ve learned and apply them to my soon to come professional career. I also would like to thank the Break Through Tech program where I was introduced to Amex through a sprinternship opportunity that has allowed me to return to Amex for a third time.
