This past Tuesday, we were thrilled to host a networking event for students and clean energy employers at CIC Providence! We would like to thank everyone who came out and made the event a success. 🙌 We are deeply grateful to our project partners at Emerald Cities Collaborative, Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, and RI Renewable Energy Fund, and our guest speaker, Priscilla De La Cruz, Director of Sustainability for the City of Providence.  This summer, BGS supported student recruitment and career development workshops for the RI Clean Energy Internship program, providing guidance and resources for students as they prepare for careers in the clean energy sector. ！Welcome a new committee co-lead to the BGS team ！ ☀️ Hailing from Miami, Florida, Alicia C. grew up in a Hispanic community filled with Latin flavor and culture to a Nicaraguan super star mom. While studying chemical-biomedical engineering, she knew her passion resided in STEM careers so she pursued that with different government entities in the nuclear and oil and gas industries. Her career has taken her along the East Coast from Washington, DC to New Orleans and even Houston. After transitioning from government work into the private sector, she now resides in Boston, MA following her passion to contribute to the climate change movement by helping to develop offshore wind. In joining Browning the Green Space, Alicia is excited to join her passion of supporting her community through outreach while creating pathways for people of color who want to enter and succeed in the clean energy workforce. #browningthegreenspace #stem #climatechange #offshorewind
