For years, Nebraskans with past felony convictions have been legally able to vote two years after they have completed all terms of their sentence. LB20, passed with strong bipartisan support this year, removes the two-year waiting period, restoring the vote for an estimated 7,000 Nebraskans. Creating a more modern and robust democracy for all Nebraskans.
About us
Civic Nebraska created a more modern and robust democracy for all Nebraskans. We achieve this through youth civic leadership programs in K-12 schools, civic health initiatives in communities across the state, and ensuring our elections are modern and accessible to all Nebraskans. A modern and robust democracy does not build itself. It takes hard work and dedicated community leaders. It starts on our streets, in our schools, and neighborhoods – and that is where you will find Civic Nebraska.
