Creating a more modern and robust democracy for all Nebraskans.
About us
Civic Nebraska created a more modern and robust democracy for all Nebraskans. We achieve this through youth civic leadership programs in K-12 schools, civic health initiatives in communities across the state, and ensuring our elections are modern and accessible to all Nebraskans. A modern and robust democracy does not build itself. It takes hard work and dedicated community leaders. It starts on our streets, in our schools, and neighborhoods – and that is where you will find Civic Nebraska.

"We may *find* ourselves afraid, but we *choose* to be hopeful." After Monday's ruling, many say they fear for U.S. democracy. It reminds us of Civic Saturday Fellow Steve Smith's 2022 sermon on hope and fear. Watch it: https://lnkd.in/gggtRdQN Read it: https://lnkd.in/gxGW-TeJ

"Summer, summer, summertime ... time to sit back and unwind ..." NO WAY! Our Lothrop and Sherman summer CLCs have been engaged in June. This week, students made smoothies on a bike – Tyrone from Building Dreams built a bike to pedal backward and make a special smoothie. Students also merged their creative and practical sides by studying, plotting, and building 18-wood-brick buildings. Swim on, Sharks! Keep prowling, Panthers! #LearningNeverStops #SummertimeCLC

Recent high-school graduates in the American Exchange Project had an eventful Capitol Experience Day on Monday [6.24.24]. The group, which came to Lincoln this week from cities and towns across the country, toured the State Capitol, learned about its history, and discovered the unique workings of our state's unicameral system. They even met with State Sen. George Dungan of Lincoln to discuss his role and duties. 📜 🖋️ Civic Nebraska hosts Capitol Experience Days year-round for students, providing hands-on learning about our state government.
