We're delighted to announce that we’ve closed financing and started construction on Rosamond South I solar + storage, the latest addition to our 1,500 MW Kern County, California portfolio! 👷☀️🔋  ️ Over 400 union construction workers will help build the project and a permanent workforce will support the site's operations and maintenance for decades to come.   Once complete, this 140 MW solar + 118 MW storage project will generate enough reliable and low-cost electricity to power over 63,000 homes each year. 🏘️ ️ Thank you to our many partners and customers who have made Rosamond South a success. And that’s a wrap! We just hosted our summer #interns’ final presentation at our San Francisco headquarters, where our incredible cohort of 22 undergraduate and graduate students shared their projects and areas of focus with Clearway colleagues and executives.  Clearway’s internship program is designed to equip passionate students with skills needed to thrive in the clean energy industry and features mentorships, individual projects, and numerous in-person connection opportunities with professionals from across the field. This year's cohort of talented interns brought fresh perspectives to 10 teams across the company, including development, operations, IT, asset management, strategy, and more. States across the country are adding energy storage to the grid at record rates. Clearway Energy Group is one of the latest #ACPmembers to bring a storage project online in California, with the completion of the 147 MW Rosamond Central BESS, located adjacent to its 192 MW Rosamond Central solar farm. Clearway’s first battery retrofit to a solar project is officially online in California! 🎉 👷♂️ 🔋Rosamond Central Battery Energy Storage System (or BESS, for short) will begin playing an important role in enhancing grid reliability under a long-term resource adequacy contract with Southern California Edison (SCE).   Rosamond Central BESS represents a $400 million investment in Kern County. It is also one of the first battery energy storage projects financed under the Inflation Reduction Act’s energy community program, which directs financial support to communities transitioning away from conventional fuels. Over 50 union craftworkers contributed to construction, with more than 115,000 hours of injury-free labor.   Rosamond Central BESS is the latest addition to Clearway’s nearly 850 MW battery energy storage portfolio. We're happy to announce our 25-year power purchase agreement with Puget Sound Energy for our 315 MW Haymaker wind farm in Montana!   Haymaker represents a major investment in Wheatland and Meagher counties and is expected to contribute over $100 million in property tax revenue and hundreds of jobs over the project's life. 👷♂️ Once operating, the Haymaker wind farm will generate enough reliable, low-cost electricity to power over 116,000 homes each year. 💨 🏠   ️  Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ektaki2X
