Team members involved in our one epic ecosystem project in Southeast Michigan had the opportunity to attend a United Shore Professional Baseball League game with their families and colleagues. The evening included a reserved patio area to watch the game, all you can eat BBQ and one team member had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch! “Super users attending this event were nominated by leaders for shining during our project to unite our electronic health record and policies,” said Ann Wiersum, Super User Coordinator. “They’re experts in their role, eager to help, proactive and excellent problem solvers. We thank all of them for supporting their peers during this monumental project.”

Our teams take the extra moment to offer comfort and security when it's needed most - like a nurse who helped a child during an overwhelming visit to the ER by introducing him to his new friends – our care team. It's this commitment to clinical excellence, paired with compassion and kindness, that sets Corewell Health apart.   We celebrated the incredible team at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital this week for tying for the number 1 spot in the state in the U.S. News and World Report 2023-2024 Best Hospitals. A commemorative banner is now proudly on display as a reflection of their exceptional care.   Congratulations to the many Corewell Health physicians, nurses and team members who together provide excellent care and are the reason many of our hospitals were recognized this year. We are so grateful for everything you do.

Our therapy dogs offer emotional support and comfort, helping to create a healing environment. Our security K9s work tirelessly to maintain a safe and secure space for everyone. Today, we extend our gratitude to these loyal companions.

From tackling misconceptions around breastfeeding barriers, to articulating the ways that social determinants of health can impact maternal and infant health, Karissa White is committed to creating the type of support she desired and that all women and infants deserve. Karissa is a trained community doula, childbirth educator, breastfeeding supporter and the owner of Birthmark Doula Services, LLC. She works passionately to improve maternal and infant health through the Center for Wellness in Benton Harbor. Offering free childbirth and lactation education classes, Karissa and others are helping women in their community learn about birth plans, breastfeeding, comfort measures, labor and delivery, mental health, warning signs and how to be their own advocates.

Opening in 2026, the Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital - a collaboration between Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital - will be the first of its kind in Michigan! "We'll be able to take care of any child that needs rehab and HDVCH will add the medical side to that," said Dr. Robert Fitzgerald, President, Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
