The STOP approach—Safety, Tell, Open, and Praise—provides a supportive framework: S: Reassure your child that they have the right to feel safe. T: Encourage them to tell a safe adult right away, like a coach, teacher, or you as their parent. O: It’s always better to share feelings with someone you trust.
