As Fairstead continues to celebrate 10 years of building strong communities, we’re proud to announce that we’ve reached a significant milestone for Chenoweth Woods Apartments – a 99-unit affordable senior property located in Louisville, Kentucky.   Fairstead has closed on financing and we are now preparing for extensive renovations to the homes at Chenoweth Woods! These renovations affirm Fairstead’s goal of providing high-quality housing across the country, and will include essential updates such as new kitchens, bathrooms and efficient appliances. Additionally, we will be refreshing the community’s landscaping and outdoor amenities with the inclusion of a community garden, picnic area and dog run.   We would like to thank our partners at the Kentucky Housing Corporation, Truist Community Capital, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and our entire team for working alongside us to ensure that all of the communities we serve are places that our residents are proud to call home.   #affordablehousing #fairstead10

We’re proud to announce that Ellen Shakespear, Senior Project Manager, Development, at Fairstead has been named to the Urban Design Forum’s 2024 inaugural class of Big Swings Fellows.   This fellowship recognizes Ellen as an urban leader who will “survey the world to take a 'big swing' at New York City’s housing crisis” and includes a trip to Berlin, Germany to learn from urban leaders internationally.   Fairstead is committed to doing our part to address the growing housing crisis in New York City and we are incredibly proud to have individuals like Ellen on our team to help drive this important work.   #design #newyorkcity #fairstead10

Meaningful progress is underway at the Lauderhill Point Apartments located in the City of Lauderhill, Florida! Since acquiring the property in January of this year, Fairstead has started work on a comprehensive rehabilitation project aimed at preserving and improving this affordable community. Comprised of 176-units, Lauderhill Point is set to receive exterior and interior upgrades ranging from new hurricane-resistant windows, to new LED lighting, to updated appliances and cabinetry. Just recently, we were pleased to share the progress made to date by touring the property with our government partners, including Vice Mayor Lawrence “Jabbow” Martin, City Manager Desorae Giles-Smith, Deputy Police Chief Allen Siegel, Assistant Fire Marshall Matt Newman, and others. Thank you to all of the City of Lauderhill officials that joined this event! In addition, our thanks to Fairstead’s financial partners Broward County Housing Finance Authority, Florida Housing Finance Corporation, PNC, Freddie Mac, and Berkadia for supporting this work. Fairstead is growing in Texas! As covered by the Commercial Observer, Fairstead has recently acquired Yale Village Apartments, a 250-unit affordable community located in Houston, Texas. With 25,000 units now under ownership in just our 10th year as a company, we are proud to continue to provide high quality property management services for our residents as we focus on revitalizing affordable housing communities nationwide. Fairstead is incredibly proud to have officially cut the ribbon on our renovations at Kinneret Apartments in sunny Orlando, Florida!   Our sincerest thanks to the many local elected officials who joined the event, including Orlando City Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, Orange County Commissioner Mayra Uribe, Florida State Senator Linda Stewart, and Florida State Representative Anna V. Eskamani, MPA, MNM. And to partners such as Regions Bank and KINNERET COUNCIL ON AGING INC who care so deeply about this community.   Yesterday’s celebration at Kinneret builds on what is already an exciting year at Fairstead as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary as a company. The renovation of the Kinneret Apartments is a win for the older residents who live there and our entire city. Thanks to Fairstead and Regions Bank, the 280-unit complex in downtown Orlando has been updated to be modern, energy-efficient and designed in a way to serve residents of all mobility levels. Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Sheehan joined residents and community leaders to celebrate the completion of the renovations today. We thank all those involved for supporting the City of Orlando's commitment to being an age-friendly community for seniors.
