While there’s so much to love about the iconic 2006 “The Devil Wears Prada”, it was time for a reboot that reworks those toxic (albeit entertaining) office power dynamics. We’re hoping for a little less burnout and stress, more teamwork, maybe even some fun post-work happy hour bonding between our favorite Runway team members?! Who knows—we’re just excited to see what the brains behind this classic have dreamt up. A cast like this (majority women, all A-listers) is rare. And you know how that thrills me! The film industry has seen the number of female protagonists fall from 33% in 2022 to 28% in 2023. Here’s to more films with leading women. Get the 🍿ready!

Sweden is already miles ahead in terms of paid parental leave and child care, and they’re not slowing down. The Nordic country has passed a law that allows new parents to transfer a portion of their paid child care benefits to grandparents who step in to help in those early days and months. Swedish parents are allowed 480 days of paid leave per child. This new law allows them to transfer 45 days of that leave to a grandparent, or 90 days if you’re a single parent. Not to mention, studies show that children grow up happier if grandparents are involved in their upbringing. After all, it takes a village! Oxford University and the Institute of Education found that the emotional support that grandparents give to children is vital. When families come together to raise children, they feel happy, secure and supported. Share the responsibilities. Share the benefits. Bravo, Sweden 👏

“A lot of years, with a lot of fun”—and with stories to tell from the very first F1 race! 87-year-old Mary McGee started racing cars in 1957 and became the first American woman to race motorcycles in 1960, competing in the Baja 1000 and Baja 500. She was even the first woman to finish the 500 solo. Her legacy is iconic. Her attitude infectious. And F1 fans are eating up this VIP interview. What a legend! Formula 1

USA Basketball has named Glossier, Inc. as the first beauty brand to partner with USA Basketball Women’s National Team, celebrating the excellence of women in sports. Recently, we’ve seen #womenssports breaking records. Firsts. Wins, on and off the courts. 2023 was a big year for #womeninsport… and there are no signs of slowing down. In fact, women’s sports are projected to rake in over $1 billion in revenue in 2024, setting a new revenue record. The partnership is USA Basketball’s first beauty partnership in its 50-year history and its first women’s specific partnership in nearly three decades. Further proof that brands are meeting the moment for women athletes!

“I have Down Syndrome and it is the least interesting thing about me.” Madison Tevlin starred in a recent viral campaign raising awareness about the assumptions of those with Down Syndrome, and we had the privilege of meeting her in the FQ Interview Studio. The campaign shares,“Assume that I can, so maybe I will.” Marta Sodano, an Italian woman with Down syndrome, said, “The whole point of this video is to end those stereotypes of people living with Down Syndrome. Many times, people with disabilities are presumed to be unable to care for themselves or unable to make their own decisions and that’s not the case.” Our unconscious biases and assumptions of those with Down Syndrome shouldn’t determine their reality. Empower someone to fulfill their potential... and they probably will. Madison’s confidence, spirit, and encouragement are contagious! Don’t forget: “Be powerful, be bold, be brave. Make it normal.”
