College freshman Finn Krol hopped on the It Gets Better blog to look back on all of their "first days" of high school — from an "objectively miserable" first day of freshman year to a "magical" senior year when "everyone knew me for who I truly was and I was finally able to enjoy it fully." The Daria Communidad Collective, recipient of one of our Global Grants in Bolivia, implemented critical work to empower queer and gender non-conforming indigenous youth by rescuing the ancestral LGBTQ+ identities of indigenous peoples in their country. This effort offered workshops on LGBTQ+ history, culture, and activism, while incorporating traditional arts, music, and storytelling to help youth connect with their roots.
