We deeply resonate with the sentiment expressed by technology titan Steve Ballmer regarding the profound issues in our immigration system. His recent remarks, backed by our astounding data, highlight an alarming reality we know all too well—thousands of people are waiting over 10 years for their asylum cases to be resolved, with some reaching an astonishing 20-year wait period, and one notable case even stretching to 36 years.
"This Does Not Compute" 🖐 🎤 I love it when technology titans echo the problems we face in immigration using precisely astounding data to validate their arguments. Major props to Steve Ballmer for highlighting the harsh realities of our immigration system. Steve is EXACTLY right that thousands of asylum seekers are waiting 10+ years for their case to be heard. In fact, our data Mobile Pathways (yes, I did have Ben Mann fact check) shows many asylum seekers are at the 20-year mark, with one notable outlier waiting 36 years (!!!) as their life hangs in limbo. Please take a hot two minutes to watch Steve's articulate diatribe about how the facts of immigration simply "do not compute" 👇 https://lnkd.in/g-skJVee #Immigration #TechInsights #DataDriven #EqualJustice #FairAccesstoJustice #HardFork Kevin Roose Casey Newton Aston Motes Jared Jaskot Kevin Bromer Roman Zelichenko, JD Jesse Martinez Ana Ortega-Villegas Michael Klein Sean Speer Kevin Barenblat

"In a time when the notion of immigration splinters political views, it’s worth recalling that shared heritages have shared values." Our Co-Founder Bartlomiej Skorupa shares a poignant reminder of why immigrants make America great. #immigrants #socialjustice #TechForGood #DigitalInclusion
Why do immigrants make America great? You can travel far and stay near. This weekend (proud #GirlDad 🚨) my daughter Haven was nominated to be the Polish Princess in the Cedar Polka Festival. This small town “Polish” festival is a gorgeous mess. Nestled in my home of northern Michigan, it took a mere 20 minute drive to drink Tyskie 🍺 (or as I prefer to call it, mothers milk) while singing both the Polish and American national anthems. 1,000s of rural Americana people from all walks of life celebrated a shared heritage while eating Kielbasa Sauerkraut Cheddar Cheese fries (Fun Fact: this dish wallops all four ventricles of the heart simultaneously). In a time that the notion of immigration splinters political views, it’s worth recalling shared heritages have shared values. Who doesn’t want freedom, dignity, and the opportunity to dance their Dupa off like no one is watching? 🗽 🇵🇱 🕺 Anna Rozmus Mariusz Kopec Piotr Gerke Michal Filip Kowalik, PhD Emily Miller Admas Kanyagia Estuardo Cifuentes Dawn Kwan Michele Malejki Ruby Powers Jesse Martinez Aston Motes Adam Bekuretsion Roman Zelichenko, JD Joanna Filejski

“We have a home we can’t return to, a country we can’t go back to.” 😞 Our data at Mobile Pathways got published again in this stark piece about "stateless" Chinese Asylum Seekers living in New York City. Excellent reporting by Documented. Specific props Ke "April" Xu for the cutting, razor-sharp prose and for the data wizardy of Ben Mann, whose diligent evidence underlines this sad Catch-22: Our immigration system is a perverse set of legal circumstances that makes people WANT TO BE VICTIMS OF CRIME to stay legally protected. 👇 Read The Full Story: https://lnkd.in/gcf_Fui2
