Today is the first day of #HispanicHeritageMonth! Cancer is the leading cause of death among Hispanic people, accounting for 20% of deaths. Compared with non-Hispanic Whites, Hispanic men and women are: * Less likely to be diagnosed with the most common cancers: lung, colorectal, breast, and prostate * More likely to develop #cancer in the liver, stomach, and cervix. These cancers are linked with infectious agents, such as #HPV. Rutgers Cancer Institute is committed to meeting the cancer-related needs of communities across New Jersey.
