Saint James Health East Side Health Center Grand Opening and Backpack Giveaway 🗓️Thursday, August 8 🕦11:30 a.m. 📍East Side High School 69 Pulaski Street, Newark Join Saint James Health, in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health for a Backpack Giveaway. A total of 1,000 backpacks will be handed out to children on a first-come, first-served basis. Backpacks will contain essential school supplies for a successful start to the school year. Saint James Health South is expanding! The South Ward Wellness Center, which was approved for up to $21.7 million in Aspire tax credits, will consist of over 46,000 square feet, including a nearly 12,000-square-foot FQHC. FQHCs are nonprofit, community-based clinics focused on providing quality health care services to medically underserved areas and populations, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. The Wellness Center’s FQHC space will be leased by Saint James Health, Inc. which operates several FQHCs across Newark, and will offer primary and preventative community health care services. #SaintJamesHealth #FQHC #NewarkHealthcare #NJEDA https://lnkd.in/dh9JJBZR

National Health Center Week Patient Appreciation Celebration This year's National Health Center Week event will be held at our West Ward center located at 332 South 8th Street, Newark, NJ on August 7. “Powering Communities through Caring Connections” is this year's theme. National Health Center Week (NHCW) (August 4th- 10th) is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) over the past five decades. In New Jersey, Federally Qualified Health Centers serve over 574,000 medically underserved patients, which continues to grow along with the demand for affordable primary care. Each year, we celebrate the work and services Health Centers provide to special populations within their community on designated days during the week. Saint James Health had a chance to visit America's Grow-a-Row farm in Pittstown NJ. This amazing non-profit is one of the fresh produce suppliers for the Saint James Health food FARMacy in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health. But we are just a small part of what they do, the amount of fresh produce and food education they provide is truly mind blowing. We are so lucky to find partners doing such amazing work, organizations like this make our job easy. #communityhealth #endinghunger
