Last week, I had the privilege of attending Heading Home's Annual Summer Social! It was a great night of networking and fundraising to benefit our mission of ending homelessness in Massachusetts. Yesterday, Hillary Shine and David Slye presented Shine Associates' annual education session to the Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Internship class of 2024. Dedicated to supporting CREST's mission to increase diversity in commercial real estate (CRE), they coached participants on navigating the CRE job market, effective resume building, interview strategies, and career positioning. CREST, introduces people of color and women—typically underrepresented in CRE—to the industry through paid internships. This program equips highly qualified college students with professional skills, networking opportunities, and access to resources during the 10-week program. Over 70 CREST/CVP Academy alumni are now thriving in full-time CRE roles, a testament to the program's impact. The CREST team, including Founder Milton Benjamin, Senior Program Advisor Sandra King, and Recruitment Lead Jayson Pugh, hosted an engaging session for the interns, leaving a lasting impression on this year’s group.
