In this month’s volunteer spotlight, we are proud to feature Firehouse Quilts, a group of talented volunteers who donate handmade quilts to charitable organizations. Says group coordinator, Jacque Schneider, “Firehouse Quilts has a mission to make and donate quilts to children/patients in crisis across Colorado.  We hope the quilts bring them some comfort at a very trying time in their lives.” Firehouse Quilts has been working with the Limb Preservation Foundation for 12 years creating the beautiful quilts that LPF sends along with care bags to patients in the hospital. Last month, LPF joined in on the fun at the annual Donor Dash event hosted by Donor Alliance. The Donor Dash is a 5K run/walk to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of organ and tissue recipients and recognize those who continue to wait for a lifesaving transplant.
