Last week, the Torch team gathered in Nashville for an unforgettable retreat! Instead of diving into work or presentations, we prioritized meaningful conversations, reflection, laughter, and moments of inspiration — reminding ourselves why we do what we do and how we can continue to grow both individually and collectively. It was a time to share our 'why,' strengthen connections, and explore how we can turn the page and step into the next chapter of Torch (and yes, we even squeezed in some karaoke and Topgolf! ⛳). Here's to the amazing Torch team and the exciting journey ahead! 🚀

📣 Proud to see our co-founder Cameron Yarbrough featured in The New York Times! As a licensed therapist turned coach, Cameron brings a unique perspective to leadership development. Through conversations with Cameron, other notable coaches, and therapists, author Daniel Duane surfaced some incredible insights about the importance of coaching for individuals and organizations, and why coaching should be accessible to everyone (we agree!). Torch investor Garry Tan said, “A lot of startups die not because of technical or engineering reasons but purely people reasons.” He's totally right and, while the New York Times article is focused on coaching for tech startups, we know coaching can benefit organizations of every size and in every industry. Toward the end of the article, Cameron says it best: people who experience coaching–and stick with it–"actually become better human beings." Manager development isn't just an HR concern—it's a top priority for leaders across all functions. Maybe you're a Chief People Officer striving to keep employees engaged or build a robust talent pipeline for succession planning. Perhaps you’re a sales leader aiming to enhance your managers' leadership capabilities to better coach their teams. Or you might lead an engineering department and want your highly technical employees to strengthen their decision-making abilities or communication skills. No matter your role, you have specific goals for your employees that align with your function and organization's needs. The need for skilled managers is universal but many managers face skill gaps that make them less effective. As a leader, we want to know what YOU think. What skills do you believe are crucial for managers to develop through coaching? 🤔 Here are some key categories to consider: ✨ Interpersonal Skills (#communication, #collaboration) ✨ Agility (#adaptability, #resilience) ✨ Innovation (#problemsolving, #curiosity) ✨ Strategic Leadership (#decisionmaking, #criticalthinking) Take our poll and share which skills you think are most essential for managers to master! #managerdevelopment #skillgaps #upskilling
