We are thrilled to work with Aquaya, RUWASA, and USAID to support this #REALWater initiative in Tanzania which will provide safe water for more than 78,000 people. Additionally, this project will enhance transparency and collaboration to ensure safe water for future generations through professional lab testing and water safety management. To learn more, read the press release here: https://lnkd.in/e-gAwsqf
Safe drinking water is essential for public health and development. USAID celebrated signing an agreement to promote quality assurance testing for drinking water and foster safety management for rural communities to ensure water quality in Manyara, Tanzania. USAID will operationalize this agreement with the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) through the #REALWater project. The USAID Water for the World research plan supports Tanzania’s efforts to improve rural water services and keep drinking water safe. The research will help develop plans to provide professional lab testing for water systems managed by RUWASA. #REALWater will evaluate the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the Water Quality #AssuranceFund through collaborations with the Ministry of Water (MoW), RUWASA, and communities in the #Mbulu and #Hanang districts of the Manyara region. Over 78,000 people will benefit from the evaluation, and the results of this evaluation will elevate the consideration of options to expand to other regions of Tanzania. Our Disaster Assistance Response Team has been hard at work in the aftermath of #HurricaneBeryl. To date, our teams have set up one reverse osmosis treatment system in Grenada, providing World Central Kitchen's operations with safe water. On Union Island in Saint Vincent, our teams have set up solar-powered pumping distribution points at the island’s only two boreholes, repaired and brought three community and hospital rain catchment systems back online, and have started water trucking to residents around the island.

Water has the power to give life, but also take it away. 3.6 billion people around the world lack access to adequate sanitation, which leads to illness and death. This is why we developed the Healthy Latrine—to improve health and restore dignity. Give the gift of hygiene and sanitation today at watermission.org

In the arid Turkana region of Kenya, there is a desperate need for safe water among the refugee population in the area. Women and girls walk for hours to find a running tap, or they attempt to collect dirty water from the seasonal river. Unless it has recently rained, they must dig into the sand of the dry riverbed to reach any water. Fortunately, thanks to supporters like you, Water Mission is bringing relief to this community. With God's provision, safe water will soon be flowing in Turkana for residents like Safi.
