Forerunner is conducting a brief survey to understand the main challenges floodplain managers are currently facing when it comes to serving their communities. The survey is anonymous, although you do have the option of sharing your email address. If you to participate, you have until mid-September. It takes about 5 minutes to complete.

We are excited to share that Yi Chan, CFM has joined our team as Strategic Partnership Manager! Yi Ling Chan has over 8 years of experience in floodplain management. Prior to Forerunner, she provided floodplain management support across all levels of government, including creating and updating FEMA trainings, performing state CAP-SSSE project work, and providing local floodplain management and CRS assistance as a Senior Planner at AtkinsRéalis. Yi previously served as the Texas State NFIP Coordinator, where she provided floodplain management technical assistance and training to over 1,200 communities across the state. She was recognized as the 2022 NFIP State Coordinator – Best/Project Innovation Award winner for her initiatives in Texas. In her role as Strategic Partnership Manager at Forerunner, Yi will be an advocate for our partner communities, helping to ensure an excellent experience and gathering feedback on how Forerunner can increase our value to states and communities.

Congratulations to Port Richey, Florida on its launch of Forerunner! By providing public access to comprehensive flood-related data and documents, Port Richey is enhancing transparency and improving communication around flood risk for property owners, contractors, realtors, and residents.

We're excited to share two new episodes of the Forerunner Academy, a learning platform dedicated to empowering the floodplain management community. The new episodes delve into important floodplain management subjects like Map Changes (LOMAs and LOMRs) and provide a comprehensive overview of the National Flood Insurance Program. Fort Pierce, Florida is improving floodplain management by partnering with Forerunner to enhance the accessibility of critical flood risk information for its residents.
