Mpox has been declared a global health emergency. The outbreak is most severe in DR Congo, where a new strain has developed. This strain is deadlier, especially to children, and has spread to places where mpox was not previously present. Those living in displacement camps face some of the highest risks. Dr. Josué Badiambila, medical director of Nyirangongo clinic in Mudja Internally Displaced Person’s Camp in DR Congo, shares an update on how mpox is impacting the community there. #mpox #mpoxoutbreak #globalhealth #africa
