Celebrating BTPride in Philly! The BT Philadelphia Office recently wrapped up an inspiring BTPride celebration with a memorable walking tour of the Philly Gayborhood. Led by Beyond the Bell Tours, we delved into the rich history and vibrant culture of America’s only formalized Gayborhood. Our journey included: - The evolution of Pride: From protest to parade - The impactful life of Kiyoshi Kuromiya: Inventor, Architect, Activist - A visit to America’s longest-operating LGBT and feminist bookstore - Tributes to LGBTQ pioneers like Barbara Gittings - Conversations about the complexities of racism within the Gayborhood - A heartfelt tribute to Gloria Casarez It was a wonderful evening of learning, reflection, and celebration with colleagues, as we honored and supported the LGBTQ+ community. Here’s to continuing our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and pride!
