    Paris 2024 is setting new standards for sustainable Olympic Games. By using 95% existing or temporary venues to minimize new construction, they’re cutting their carbon footprint by 50% compared to past Games. The Aquatics Centre and Olympic Village feature eco-friendly materials, solar panels, and geothermal cooling. Additionally, they’re doubling plant-based food options, cutting single-use plastics in half, and promoting public transport with a reduced, eco-friendly Olympic fleet.     The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) and partners branched out to unveil a record-breaking $33.5 million in conservation grants from the Longleaf Landscape Stewardship Fund. These funds, supported by the Bezos Earth Fund and other key partners, will help restore and protect 8 million acres of longleaf pine habitats, benefiting various species and local communities. Read below to learn about the NFWF’s partners that helped make this possible! ⬇

    Some news we’re simply pining to share! 🌲 Today NFWF and partners announced a record-breaking $33.5 million in conservation grants from the Longleaf Landscape Stewardship Fund to safeguard some of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. These grants will help restore and protect longleaf pine habitats, supporting wildlife and the communities that depend on thriving forests. Thanks to the incredible support from the Bezos Earth Fund and other key partners, these grants will contribute to the America's Longleaf Restoration Initiative's goal to restore 8 million acres of this precious ecosystem, benefiting species like the gopher tortoise, red-cockaded woodpecker and eastern indigo snake.
