We are #BaptistProud to share that Dr. Praveen Kanaparti and Dr. Pam Rama were part of a statewide, cardiovascular quality registry, the Florida CV Quality Network-Hyperlipidemia (FCQN-HL), with the collaboration of multiple lipid clinics. FCQN-HL recently had baseline results published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Kanaparti shared, "Initial experience with this innovative quality registry showed that a protocol-directed point of care GDMT, CardioSmart patient education, and the SMART reach secondary risk calculator are clinically feasible, with a potential to significantly impact cardiovascular outcomes. 🥂 Cheers to 30 years! Baptist Primary Care Harbour Place hosted a surprise party last week for one of its founding providers, family physician Michael Waters, MD, who celebrated his 30th anniversary with the health system this week! A Jacksonville native and a 1980 graduate of Episcopal High School, Dr. Waters joined Baptist Health on Aug. 1, 1994, when Baptist Primary Care was known as Baptist Doctor’s Office Network. Dr. Waters earned his medical degree in 1991 from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and as a medical resident once spent 68 hours straight caring for patients in a small Alabama emergency room during the March 1993 “Storm of the Century.” Congrats to this amazing physician on 30 years in the Baptist Family! #BaptistProud

A: I'm a cardiologist and an inventor with a deep passion for patient empowerment. I believe in fostering trusting partnerships through education and personalized care to achieve the best possible health outcomes for my patients. Q: Are you from Jacksonville? If not, what brought you to this area? A: Jacksonville wasn't always home, but the opportunity to work at Baptist Health and be part of a community dedicated to exceptional health care was very appealing. Q: Why did you decide to become a cardiologist? A: The human body is a fascinating machine, and cardiology allows me to combine my love of science with the power of healing. Empowering patients through knowledge about their cardiovascular health is incredibly rewarding. Q: What makes you happiest treating patients?
