Happy to share the impact inspired by Racheal V. through her community initiative providing awareness, free education and mentorship to girls affected by gender-based violence within Mukuru kwa Njenga and beyond. Racheal is also a champion of education in emergencies, supporting children affected by conflicts and other calamities like floods.

Reflecting on our work in low-income communities over the past few years, it's clear that financial resources alone haven't been the sole determinant of our success. Instead, our alumni network and fellows, equipped with compelling stories of impact, demonstrated leadership, and a steadfast commitment to change, has been instrumental in driving progress. This, combined with the support of our dedicated stakeholders, has made a profound difference. On this day #internationalyouthday, we celebrate the youth (alumni and fellows) for taking up digital innovation and creativity to intensify advocacy against education inequity. We amplify impact by sharing our work and consistently adding our voices to what really matters, action against education inequity. Our vision of quality education accessible to all children, regardless of their background, remains unfulfilled. Yet, we believe that collective leadership is our most powerful tool. At Teach For Kenya we view the work of our alumni and fellows as systemic, and student leadership is at the core of it all. In this shift of power, teachers exist as learners in all ecosystems around children. This was during an #Artvista session executed by Christine Ombima, an alumna passionate about using mental wellness to address education inequity. This collaboration clearly manifests Teach For All's values especially the sense of possibility, diversity and inclusiveness, I have seen mentors learn Kiswahili language and enjoy our local delicacies with a lot of ease. The magnitude of systemic changes we desire calls for collective efforts across all spaces in our country. Bold leaders Series is a platform where we share our lived experiences with all education champions within and outside our country. Masterclasses are opportunities to develop our alumni, positioning them for careers and opportunities of impact. Pitch Craft masterclass comes at a time when final year leaders get ready for the second annual Teach For Kenya Eagles Den event later this month. We are so proud that Maxwell Addo MIEE, MBA will share with the fellows and alumni on how to create a compelling pitch deck for resource mobilization. The problems facing education system are deeply rooted in the communities we serve. System changes require strong collaboration with our communities. Our alumni network engaged in a CSR activity in association with Nikon Youth School. More than 30 young people got a solid foundation on photography and videography skills. Much appreciation to Nikon Youth and Kids School for this opportunity to give back to the community we serve. We are looking to more opportunities for collaboration and partnerships to transform communities.

Quality teaching and learning experiences begin by having qualified and competent teachers/trainers. Most schools in low income communities do not invest in teacher capacity development. Lack of capacity development means these teachers are not well prepared to facilitate learning experiences for the 21st century learner. As a result, their learners miss out on key skills and competencies they require to thrive and address future challenges they will inherit like climate change, and future of work. We are glad that Gilbert Otieno,  a leadership and development coach at Teach for Kenya and also a member of our network started EdTech Guardian Hub. This is an  EdTech space that  supports educators with the right tools, skills, knowledge and mindset to create a positive impact on their student's lives and make learning a safe and an enriching experience. In such ways, our alumni accelerate our efforts towards education equity.
