🤠 Meet Kevin Mershon who recently celebrated his three-year anniversary at User Interviews, and during that time, his contributions have been nothing short of transformative.
✨Since his promotion to VP of Finance, Kevin has taken on an even greater role, leading our forecasting efforts across multiple departments at UI. His work ranges from automating month-end reconciliations to setting up and managing critical systems—all while overseeing countless internal processes that ensure our subscription setups, renewals, and processing continue to run smoothly.
While Kevin is undoubtedly our go-to numbers guy, what truly sets him apart is how he exemplifies one of our core values: Prioritize relationships over transactions. Kevin is actively involved in our onboarding program as a UI Buddy, where he invests in new hires’ ramp-up periods with a people-first approach. He ensures that his new hire buddy has a dedicated guide to help them navigate the ins and outs of our dynamic startup environment.
Kevin is also our most senior DEI&A committee member and has been instrumental in initiatives such as getting our committee and ERGs up and running—and even leading the effort to secure budgets for each group.
Kevin is a true champion of our culture, embodying every one of our values, and we are incredibly proud to spotlight him as a shining example to our network.
🌻 What is your favorite thing about working at User Interviews?
I love having the opportunity to solve new and interesting problems, and I get to do that basically every day at UI!
🍽️What is a fun fact others don't know about you?
I cooked for Grant Achatz and he took 1-2 bites of each dish I made, paid, and left most of the food on the table. I was told this is a "thing" he does, but I'm not sure if that's true or if someone was just trying to make me feel better?
👨🏼🍳If you could say thank you to someone who's impacted your career, who would it be and why?
I'd thank my old chef de cuisine, Jon. I was fresh out of culinary school and had been working in his kitchen about a year and I wanted to stay, but he basically forced me to find a new job because I needed to expand my culinary skills and knowledge outside of that kitchen. It was hard to take at the time, but looking back I now see it was the push I needed to get more comfortable being uncomfortable.
