  • BAL Third Baseman #86
Well, that didn’t take long. Mayo will get the call to the majors for Friday’s showdown against the Guardians following a four-hit performance on Thursday night for Triple-A Norfolk. The 22-year-old top prospect projects as an immediate four-category fantasy contributor after posting an astronomical .961 OPS with 20 homers this season at the Triple-A level. He’ll presumably get plenty of runway at third base for Baltimore with both Jorge Mateo (elbow) and Jordan Westburg (hand) sidelined until at least late September. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats until further notice.
  • CHC Left Fielder #40
With the score tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Tauchman came up huge with a double off the bench to score Dansby Swanson and give the Cubs the come-from-behind win. That’s the 11th double of the season for Tauchman and the 20th RBI. While his ability to get on via walk is admirable, the rest of his skill set — and playing time — doesn’t really add to a fantasy recommendation.
  • TB Third Baseman #13
If we’re being completely honest, Caminero should be in the majors right now, but the Rays appear poised to continue attempting to sort through the flotsam and jetsam on their active roster over the next few weeks before he gets another opportunity at the highest level. The 21-year-old top prospect has dealt with some injuries this season, but he’s been an offensive force, when healthy, with an .819 OPS and 11 homers in 45 games for Triple-A Durham. He’s one of the top stash candidates for fantasy managers heading into the home stretch, even in shallow mixed leagues.
  • KC Shortstop #7
Yet another big day at the dish for Witt, who connected for his 20th round-tripper of the year with an eighth-inning solo shot off Tigers reliever Brenan Hanifee. He also added an RBI double in the ninth inning, just for good measure. The fantasy superstar is on a 14-game hitting streak for the second time this year. He’s hitting .350 with a 1.002 OPS and 78 RBI on the season.
  • LAA Shortstop #2
Rengifo told reporters he’s feeling better and is day-to-day after leaving Wednesday’s showdown against Colorado with a right-wrist flareup. The versatile 27-year-old missed two weeks last month due to wrist inflammation and it looks like the issue is going to continue bothering him for a bit longer. Fortunately, it doesn’t appear that he’s in danger of requiring another trip to the injured list.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
It’s an absolutely devastating development as Trout was on the precipice of making it back to Los Angeles a couple weeks ago before suffering a pair of unfortunate setbacks. The 32-year-old generational talent, who has been limited to just 266 out of a possible 648 games over the last four seasons due to injury, underwent an MRI earlier this week that revealed another meniscus tear in his surgically-repaired left knee earlier this week that will require an additional procedure. The hope is that he’ll be fully healthy and ready to go for spring training.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #66
It’s a phenomenal streaming opportunity for fantasy managers as Holmes will face Miami’s floundering lineup after striking out eight and allowing just one run over five innings on Monday in a spot start against the Brewers. The 28-year-old former top pitching prospect has performed extremely well since finally getting a shot a couple weeks ago, posting a sparkling 2.54 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 29/5 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings (11 appearances, one start). He’ll take the ball in place of an injured Reynaldo López, who remains day-to-day with a forearm tightness. It’ll be Max Fried (forearm) likely coming off the injured list to start Sunday’s series finale against Miami.
  • BAL Outfielder
The two sides were able to reach an agreement on a $4 million slightly above-slot deal for the 22nd overall pick just a few hours prior to Thursday’s signing deadline, according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis. Honeycutt possesses one of the widest range of potential outcomes of any prospect from the 2024 MLB Draft as he pairs an impressive power/speed combo with clear contact issues. The 21-year-old is an elite potential Gold Glove Award-caliber defensive center fielder, which might be enough by itself to carry him to the big leagues. He’ll obviously need to make some improvements with his plate skills, but the path to fantasy relevance is abundantly clear if he’s able to make some strides with his swing decisions.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher
This one came down to the wire as Yesavage was one of just a handful of unsigned first-round selections heading towards Thursday evening’s signing deadline. However, the expectation all along was that the two sides would eventually reach a deal. The 21-year-old right-hander — who receives a slightly over-slot deal of $4.117 million as the 20th overall pick, according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis — possesses front-of-the-rotation upside for fantasy purposes if everything comes together as he pairs three above-average offerings with strong command. The usual risks that come with starting pitching prospects for dynasty purposes apply here, but he’s one of the more intriguing arms from his draft class.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #28
The 25-year-old apparently felt some tightness in his shoulder after his start against the Tigers, so the Guardians will play it safe and give him some more rest. As of now, the plan is for him to start sometime early next week, but not exact date has been set. Joey Cantillo will now start on Saturday against the Orioles.
