  • WAS Zentrum #18
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Anzejs Pasecniks is signing a two-way deal with Milwaukee.
Washington waived Pasecniks in 2020-21 and he’s looking to making an NBA return after playing in Spain and France over the past few seasons. There’s no clear path to him becoming a part of the Bucks’ rotation in 2024-24, though.
  • NYK Power Forward #3
According to Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto, Chuma Okeke is signing a deal with New York.
Okeke averaged career lows across the board last season and will join a Knicks team that leans heavily on its starters. He isn’t likely to be relevant in fantasy any time soon with versatile forwards like OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges ahead of him on the depth chart.
  • FA Small Forward #33
Gordon Hayward, 34, announced Thursday that his playing career is officially coming to a close after 14 NBA seasons.
Hayward resurrected his career with the Charlotte Hornets after suffering a career-threatening leg injury with the Boston Celtics, but ultimately hasn’t been able to stay healthy enough to stay on the court in recent years. He thrived as an elite fantasy option at small forward during his prime and peaked in 2016-17 when he averaged 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during his final season with the Utah Jazz.
  • LAL Small Forward #23
LeBron James provided solid value on Wednesday with 12 points (5-of-9 FGs), seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and six turnovers against South Sudan.
James made history on Wednesday by becoming the third player in USA Men’s National Team history to score 300 points in the Olympics, joining Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony. He played well in this game (aside from the turnovers), and he sealed the win with a late dunk off a pass from Anthony Davis. James is likely playing in his final Olympics, so we should expect him to do everything in his power to go out with another gold medal.
  • MIA Zentrum #13
Bam Adebayo led Team USA with 18 points (8-of-10 FGs), seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers in a 103-86 win over South Sudan on Wednesday.
Adebayo showed some shooting flashes at the end of last season, and he has turned into a real threat from deep this summer. He was perfect from the floor in the first half and entered the break with 14 points and two 3-pointers. He only added one more bucket in the second half, but Adebayo was instrumental in helping Team USA move to 2-0. They’ll suit up again on Saturday against Puerto Rico.
  • CLE Zentrum #31
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Allen’s three-year extension is worth $91 million and will guarantee him $131 million over the next five years.
Allen recorded career highs in points (16.5) and assists (2.7) per game last season and continued to be a strong rebounder and defender for Cleveland. Fantasy managers should view him as a strong fantasy center option ahead of 2024-25 despite how banged-up he was during last year’s playoffs.
  • DEN Zentrum #15
Nikola Jokic totaled 14 points (5-of-7 FGs) with 15 rebounds, nine assists, two steals and a block against Puerto Rico.
The NBA’s reigning MVP bounced back in a big way after losing to the United States. He affected all aspects of the game in a well-rounded performance. He’ll look to keep it up in Serbia’s next matchup against South Sudan.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #10
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Kennard is signing a one-year, $11 million deal with Memphis.
Kennard was one of the many Grizzlies who dealt with injury problems last season. The sharpshooter averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 45% from deep in 39 games in 2023-24. His long-range shooting efficiency has made him one of the league’s top three-point specialists in recent years and he can easily help fantasy teams in that area with a healthy season.
  • NYK Power Forward #5
The Knicks announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed free agent power forward/center Precious Achiuwa.
Despite playing well down the stretch of last season, the free agency market did not open up for Achiuwa in the way he hoped it would. The Knicks are bringing him back, with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reporting that the deal is worth $6 million for one season. That will give Achiuwa another opportunity to prove himself, especially as the backup to a starting center who has struggled to remain healthy (Mitchell Robinson). Achiuwa will be worth a late-round roll of the dice, and there will be times when he’s a worthwhile streaming target.
  • POR Shooting Guard #4
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Trail Blazers are signing Devonte’ Graham to a one-year deal.
Graham has been an unrestricted free agent since early July when the Hornets waived him after Charlotte acquired him from San Antonio. The 2018 second-round pick appeared in 46 games over two seasons with the Spurs and is likely to take on a similar role with the Blazers. Fantasy managers don’t need to consider him a viable option in drafts.
