Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage, Monkey Man stars Dev Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city's sinister elite. Nowadays, the best thing an action movie like this can do is offer a unique and as intimate —for its creator— as possible proposal, and 'Monkey Man' exudes enough care scene after scene to allow Dev Patel's figure to be projected in each of its frames.

The story line/message is okay. There is a section of the movie which is slow and drags. Actors are all new to me. Actors did act. Culture customs and lifestyles are displayed/shown and verbal wisdom is given. I liked it.
