Segment Engage

Twilio Engage Premier EOS

Twilio will end-of-sale (EOS) its Twilio Engage Premier product on June 10, 2024. Existing customers can continue to use Twilio Engage Premier. However, Twilio will not be offering new feature enhancements or releases going forward.

Customers may use Twilio SendGrid Marketing Campaigns for email or our preferred ISVs or other multichannel marketing providers of choice as they will be set up to help customers meet their multichannel marketing needs. No immediate action is required from customers at this time. Looking ahead, we will announce the end-of-life (EOL) later in the year, with the goal to sunset the Engage Premier edition by the end of 2025. We'll provide you more details as they become available to ensure you have ample time to plan and transition smoothly.

Flex

Flex Plugins CLI version 7.0.0 is now available

The Flex Plugins CLI can now help validate your plugins against the latest Flex UI version to ensure compatibility. The recommendations displayed by this command help you follow best practices to keep your plugin code compatible with Flex UI as the platform evolves. However, it cannot guarantee compatibility. This command also runs implicitly as part of the Deploy command.

The 7.0.0 release also includes:

  • Enhancements to the CLI version update notifier

  • Integrated telemetry for all of the commands

  • Security fixes

  • Removal of unused dependencies

This update includes two breaking changes:

  • Because the twilio:flex:plugins:deploy command now validates plugins as part of the deployment process, version 7.0.0 and later can disrupt automated deployments, such CI/CD pipelines. When the Deploy command runs, if the validation process finds any errors, the deployment process stops to ask for input. To prevent this issue, use the --bypass-validation option on your Deploy command to skip plugin validation for automated deployments. For details, see Deploy in the Flex Plugins CLI reference.
  • Node v14 is no longer supported. Your plugins must be compatible with Node v16.x or later.

For more information about this release, see the Flex Plugins CLI release notes. For complete information about the Flex Plugins CLI, see our Flex Plugins CLI documentation.

Messaging GA WhatsApp Business API

80 MPS Default Throughput Upgrade for Twilio WhatsApp (Text and Media)

Twilio now supports a messaging throughput of 80 MPS (messages per second) by default per WhatsApp sender for all outbound traffic. This throughput applies to both messages containing text-only and messages containing media files. The text-only throughput for a WhatsApp sender can be increased up to a maximum of 400 MPS by request for businesses requiring it to send high and sustained messaging volumes.

Messaging Deprecated Conversations

Google Business Messages End of Life Notice

As announced on May 28, 2024, Google will end of life (EOL) Google Business Partners (GBM) in July 2024. You won’t be able to start new conversations after July 15, and the Twilio GBM API and Google Business Profiles chat will no longer work after July 31, 2024.

You should replace any brand-managed entry points (like URLs or web widgets) with an alternative messaging option by July 15, 2024, to avoid message disruption. You don’t need to take action if you use Google entry points for business messages.

For more information, review Update on Google Business Messages.

TaskRouter Twilio Platform Flex

TaskRouter APIs now supported on Restricted API Keys

You can now select permissions for TaskRouter APIs while creating a Restricted API Key on Console. The product already supports permissions for Studio, Voice, SIP, Messages, Regulatory Compliance and Long Codes APIs.

Restricted API Keys allow you to decide which Twilio API Resources an API Key can access, and which action(s) the API Key is allowed to take on those API Resources.

Messaging Event Streams

10DLC Registration Error Details via Event Streams

Customers registering 10DLC Brands and Campaigns for A2P Messaging can now create subscriptions to receive detailed error codes through Event Streams when a Brand or Campaign registration fails.

This enhancement uses Twilio's Event Streams product to push error codes directly to customers, eliminating the need to query the Brand and Campaign endpoints or check the A2P Console Pages.

Existing users must update to Schema version 2 for the following events to start receiving error codes:

  • Campaign Registration Failure
  • Brand Registration Failure.

Check out the Event Streams product or documentation on how to get started!

Flex Mobile now available in Public Beta

We’re excited to announce the Public Beta release of Flex Mobile, a pre-built app available for iOS and Android devices. Flex Mobile brings the Flex experience to a phone or tablet, giving agents the flexibility to answer calls and messages while away from their desks.

Current Flex customers can download the app and use it with an existing Flex instance at no additional cost and with no new development effort. If you’d like to onboard new agents to Flex for mobile access, contact your Twilio Account team to add additional Flex Mobile licenses that can be purchased at a discounted price.
