Bethlehem house fire 7-9-24

Crews were sent to the 1800 block of Norwood Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. on 7/9/24. 

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Officials with the Bethlehem Fire Department are releasing information about two separate dwelling fires in the city. 

Firefighters say two people are displaced following a fire at 60 E. Broad St. Tuesday. It happened just after 4:30 p.m. 

Officials say the second alarm fire at the apartments was brought under control in about 20 minutes. 

The second incident happened in the city about an hour later while crews were still on scene at E. Broad St.

Crews were sent to the 1800 block of Norwood Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. on 7/9/24. 

Fire officials say they responded to the 1800 block of Norwood Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. to find both sides of a twin home well involved in fire. 

The third alarm fire required additional water supply and a rehabilitation unit to care for firefighters due to hot and humid conditions. 

One firefighter suffered minor injuries during the Norwood St. fire. No other injuries were reported. 

Three families were displaced as a result of this second fire. Red Cross is providing assistance. 

The cause of both fires is under investigation.
