Ryanair website down: Airport queue warnings as passengers are unable to check in online

Ryanair's website has been offline repeatedly over the last couple of days, with many customers complaining that they're unable to check-in online

The airline announced earlier this week that it would be carrying out 'scheduled maintenance' at 19:00hr GMT on Wednesday 23 March for 'a number of hours'.

However, there were further problems on Thursday, with more 'scheduled maintenance' announced between 15.00 and 15.45. The website was still unavailable when we checked this morning, although it was back online when we checked at 10.15.

There have been large numbers of complaints on social media that passengers were unable to check-in online, as well as reports of longer than usual queues.

I'm flying with Ryanair today - what should I do?

The airline has said that it will waive the fee that it normally charges to check-in at the airport for flights on 25 March.

Normally customers have to pay £55 if they haven't checked in online, or £20 if they've checked in but not printed out their boarding pass. Passengers have been told on social media that they will still need to check in online for flights on 26 March.

Queue warnings at airports.

There have been reports of longer queues at some airports, with more people needing to be checked in.

One person told us they waited two hours at Stansted for the system to be fixed before they could fly. Another said that they were 'stuck' in a Ryanair queue at Luton.

It's advisable for people flying today to allow longer to get through the airport.

We have asked Ryanair to confirm whether it has now resolved the issues with its App and website.
