Most popular washing machine

Bosch WAJ28008GB

Bosch WAJ28008GB
  • White, freestanding washing machine
  • Medium capacity: 7kg cotton, 4kg synthetics
  • £68.47 approx. annual energy cost

We like: Budget

We don't like: Not the most energy efficient

This washing machine from Bosch has enough clothing capacity for a household of three to four people and is at the lower end of the cost spectrum. With its budget price point of £375, no wonder it's so popular.

It has 15 programs that wash at 20°C, 40°C, 60°C and 90°C, and functions relatively quietly.

It's not super energy efficient though – and it doesn't have a rapid wash feature like other models.

Given how cheap it is, does it actually clean well? Read our expert Bosch WAJ28008GB review to find out if it holds up.

Most popular tumble dryer

Indesit YT M11 82 X UK

Indesit YT M11 82 X UK
  • Heat pump tumble dryer
  • Maximum capacity: 8kg
  • £54.43 approx. annual energy cost

We like: A++ energy rating

We don't like: Water tank is difficult to remove

This tumble dryer is extremely energy efficient. It uses a heat pump to dry your clothes and collects any water in an internal water tank that you have to empty.

With an annual running cost of approximately £54.43, you'll be able to keep your energy costs relatively low and still use a tumble dryer.

Just keep in mind that while energy efficient, heat pump tumble dyers usually take a little longer to dry your clothes.

Read our full Indesit YT M11 82 X UK review to find out whether this is the right tumble dryer for your needs.

Most popular laundry detergent

Aldi Almat Super Concentrated Bio Powder

  • Bio powdered detergent
  • 40 washes per box
  • 8p per wash

We like: The price tag

We don't like: Contains some harmful ingredients to aquatic organisms

Costing approximately 8p per wash, this detergent from Aldi is well-suited for those on a budget. If you're looking to cut down on laundry costs this year, this can be a great way to save some money.

It doesn't give advice on how to recycle the box, which isn't great.

Sure, it's cheap: but how well does it remove stains? Read our full Aldi Almat Super Concentrated Bio Powder review to see how well this detergent compares to more expensive products.

Buy it direct from Aldi for £3.19.

Most popular vacuum cleaner

Shark Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner with TruePet NV602UKT

Shark Lift-away Upright Vacuum Cleaner with TruePet NV602UKT

  • Upright corded vacuum
  • Comes with specialised attachments for pet hair
  • Bagless

We like: Detachable handheld model

We don't like: The cord might leave you a bit short

This Shark vacuum cleaner seems extremely similar to the more expensive NV702UKT, but it has a different floorhead. This vacuum comes with some pet-specific attachments for cleaning up after the mucky pups in your life.

Like other Shark models, it can be used in a detachable handheld mode, which is great when you need to clean stairs and harder to reach areas.

Read our full Shark Lift-Away vacuum cleaner review to see how well it compares to similar models.

Most popular cordless vacuum cleaner

Beko PowerClean VRT94929VI

Beko PowerClean VRT94929VI
  • Built-in HEPA filters
  • Charge time: 3.5 hours
  • Battery life on minimum power: 45 minutes

We like: Easily reaches hard-to-clean nooks and crannies

We don't like: Makes a weird whistling noise when running

This cordless vacuum from Beko is extremely flexible – literally. It has a jointed tube that allows you to squeeze it into hard-to-reach places with its angled 'elbow' attachment.

Built-in LED lights on the vacuum head can be turned on to illuminate any dust and debris that might have built up over the shorter winter days.

It makes an odd whistling noise when running, however, which may bother you.

It might be our most popular cordless vacuum, but is it the right one for you? Read our full Beko Powerclean VRT94929VI review to find out how well it performed in our testing.

Most popular mattress

Eve Premium Hybrid Mattress

eve premium hybrid mattress
  • Medium-firm mattress: 4 out of 10 (1 being the firmest)
  • Made from a combination of memory foam and springs
  • Bed-in-a-box

We like: The 100-night trial

We don't like: At 46kg, it's really heavy!

This hybrid mattress from bed-in-a-box brand Eve is our most popular mattress. If you're thinking of getting a new bed for a guest room or for yourself, this is a popular choice.

It's on the firmer side – which can be good for proper support, but might not be comfortable for everyone. If you end up not liking it, there's a 100-night trial period where Eve will collect it and offer a full refund.

Thankfully, you don't need to flip this mattress. However, you should rotate it from head to toe every once in a while.

How comfortable is it? Read our full Eve Premium Hybrid review to see how well it compares to other mattresses.

Buy it direct from Eve Sleep for £659.

Most popular handheld vacuum cleaner

Dyson V7 Trigger

Dyson V7 Trigger
  • Charge time: 3 hours
  • Battery life: 32 minutes on normal power
  • Weight: 1.98kg

We like: Lightweight

We don't like: Battery life could be longer

The handheld vacuum from Dyson is perfect for those looking for a smaller vacuum to spot clean around the house.

It uses much of the same build as the Dyson V7 cordless, with the same trigger, 0.6-litre dust container and filtration system.

It's a bit more on the expensive side for a handheld cordless vacuum – especially since it has a fairly low battery life.

Read our full Dyson V7 Trigger review to find out whether it'll bust your dust, or if it should bite the dust.

Most popular steam cleaner

Polti Vaporetto SV460 Double

Polti Vaporetto SV460 Double
  • Combination steam mop
  • Tank capacity: 300ml
  • Heating time: 30 seconds

We like: Easy to use

We don't like: Cord isn't super long

This steam cleaner mop from Polti is perfect for those looking to get off their hands and knees when scrubbing floors.

The removable water tank is easy to fill, and a short heating time means you'll be able to clean hardwood floors in a jiffy.

Just don't get caught short on the cord and remember not to mop yourself into a corner!

Read our full Polti Vaporetto SV460 review to see how well it did in our testing.

Most popular steam iron

Philips Azur GC4537/86

Philips Azur GC4537/86
  • Corded
  • Tank capacity: 301ml
  • Does not require anti-calcium cartridges

We like: Long cord

We don't like: No clip to store said long cord

This steam iron from Philips lets out a continuous burst of steam during use. If you need more steam, you can use the steam boost feature to iron out more stubborn wrinkles.

It comes with a built-in anti-drip system to prevent water from leaking on your ironed clothes.

Despite being released in 2019, it's still a very popular steam iron for consumers.

Read our full Philips Azur GC4537/86 review to find out whether it'll smooth out or sear your trousers.

Most popular small kitchen appliance

Ninja Foodi Max AG551UK

Ninja Foodi Max Airfryer

  • Claimed cooking capacity: 0.93kg
  • Six cooking functions
  • £32.04 approx. annual energy cost (if used twice per week)

We like: Temperature probe and versatility

We don't like: Heavy and expensive

It's not much of a surprise to see an air fryer being our most popular small kitchen appliance. These mini oven alternatives have surged in popularity over the past few years for their low energy use, low running costs, and their speediness and versatility in 'frying' chips, roasting veg, or cooking chicken.

The Foodi Max from Ninja is a bit more expensive than most air fryers, but that's in part due to the temperature probe that comes with it – this means you don't need to manually adjust the temperature or rely on presets.

Thinking of buying an air fryer? Read our full Ninja Foodi Max review to see if it will be useful in your kitchen.
