We put Magnet kitchens through our rigorous lab tests and also surveyed Which? members about their kitchens, including those who had bought from Magnet.

You can buy its kitchen ranges in a Ready to Assemble (flatpack) or Pre-built format.

The Pre-built range is more expensive, but designed to be more sturdy and durable.

We assessed both types in our expert testing lab.

The customer survey was conducted online in February 2023 among 4,378 Which? members who have bought a new kitchen in the past 10 years. Magnet sample size: 248.

We tested 19 kitchen ranges from various brands, giving them an overall score based on their performance in the lab and customer ratings.

The best kitchen we assessed achieved an overall score of 81%. Our five best kitchen suppliers all scored over 75%.

At the bottom end of the table, our lowest-scoring kitchen earned 59%. In fact, eight kitchens from four brands all got scores of less than 70%.

How to buy a Magnet kitchen

You cannot buy Magnet kitchens online, so you will need to book a design appointment.

Before you attend, Magnet recommends you check out their kitchen designs online and measure and sketch your kitchen layout.

They can also help you to organise your installation. You can do this yourself, use the Magnet installation service, or book your own trader.

According to Magnet, the process takes around four months in total.

Magnet design services

Magnet offers a free kitchen design consultation. You can choose whether you'd prefer to go in-store or have a virtual consultation.

In both, you'll discuss with a designer how to make the most of your space and budget, and they will create a 3D plan of your new kitchen. Afterwards, you'll receive your designs and a quote.

A designer will then come to measure up your kitchen, or Magnet will give you instructions for how to measure it yourself. If you're not able to see kitchens in-store, Magnet will send you samples of colours, handles and worktops before you order.
